They performed “ Getting Closer” off of the 1990 album Showtime. It wasn’t until halfway through the set that Bon Harris fully joined McCarthy at front stage. The duo thundered off songs that left an eerie presence in the air. The majority of the time Harris was in the background timing synth’s and using the drum pad to fuel energy to McCarthy’s vocals. The good news is that they will be back in full-strength May 30th in Barcelona. The band was not joined in full-power as David Gooday and Simon Granger we’re not able to renew their visas for the North American leg of the tour. Percussionist Bon Harris came onto the stage first and lead vocalist, Douglas McCarthy, led the duo into a steady beat that would carry the rest of the night. Low-intensity lights flickered in the Elsewhere Hall and the flags from Nitzer Ebb’s freshman album, That Total Age, hung along the back of the stage. Kraftwerk pioneered the term and bands such as Nitzer Ebb and Front 242 helped it grow in the 1980s. It can be described as a unique twist between electronic and gothic cultures. Those not familiar with the name might be able to recognize the often times both electronic genre they helped pioneer - Electronic Body Music. Outside of the venue was an assortment of characters draped in mainly black clothing waiting to see the legends perform. Performances from September to November will include notable artists Sherelle, Ben Klock and Marcel Dettmann with Levon Vincent, VTSS, IC3PEAK, and Overmono (Live). Instead, trading for Durant, who is a four-time scoring champion along with being a two-time NBA Champion with the Warriors organization, must be something they consider if their assets are enough to intrigue the Nets.The temperatures were starting to peek into the 70’s as the heat wave was starting to roll out into the streets of New York just as Nitzer Ebb made their second appearance at Elsewhere in Brooklyn. Either way, Golden State shouldn’t want to watch Poole and even Kuminga eventually leave to head elsewhere when the Warriors can’t pay them. Some could argue that they owe Stephen Curry the right to be one of the greatest champions in league history. It would solve the Warriors’ contract questions and makes them immediate title favorites. Jonathan Kuminga, James Wiseman, and Jordan Poole would be the baseline for any trade including the former MVP. However, the big-time names would have to go in any trade. Throughout the summer, the venue will be hosting over 40 events ranging from intimate shows with up-and-coming artists to full-blown. Elsewhere, the multi-room live music venue and nightclub in Bushwick, Brooklyn is back this summer and they have announced a huge lineup. Klay Thompson will also become a free agent following the 2023-2024 season. Now, it doesn’t seem like either player piques the interest of Brooklyn too much, but the Dubs can’t pay them both along with preparing for Green’s new deal as well. The Warriors have Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole both becoming free agents after this season with both also looking at near-max deals.
The Golden State Warriors are likely going to pass on a trade for Kevin Durant, but this viewpoint may make it worth considering. Draymond Green wants a max extension, and that may not happen as the Dubs are looking to pay young prospects in the future as well. While the rumors have drawn quiet as of late, the Dubs have run into a few news-breaking headlines regarding future contracts. The Golden State Warriors have been among the several teams linked to small forward Kevin Durant, who requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets and is under contract for the next several seasons.
